Safety Measures For Using A Portable Cement Mixer - LCETED

If you GO to any construction site, you will find that one of the most common equipment is cement mixer, they are everywhere.

Trucks shaking with a large rotating drum, working up to a mini-mixer used in small quantities.

METHOD OF MIXING

The most common reason is that they are used to mix cement, and its is one of the most common materials used to blend things.
However, construction workers habits are insulting, and many accidents happen because people take them for granted, and, as is common, do not realize that they are incredibly dangerous if not properly treated.

Here is a list of seven tips to help you stay safe on the job site.

TIP 1: CHECK WHAT DOES IT CONTAIN?
Before replacing it, make sure there is nothing inside.

This may sound insane, but because of their ability and their large open hole in the foreground, people store snacks, sticks and forks that create a lot of damage if they are not removed before.

TIPS 2: CLEAN THE AREA AROUND IT
The area around it should be clear of any hazards, materials and equipment. It is absolutely necessary to access the heavy moving object unhindered.

TIPS 3: CHECKS FOR SAFETY
·   Electric Engine: Before turning on the machine, check that all cables and circuit breakers are in optimal condition.

·      Diesel/Gasoline: Make sure that the fuels produced are harmful, so that they are kept away from the operator.

·    General: Make sure all moving parts are protected in some way so that the hazard is minimized if someone travels or brushes against the mixer.

TIPS 4: DON'T FILL TOO MUCH!
It's very easy if when you chat with someone to forget how many quantities you have in the mixer, so be very careful to check how much you put in.

Check the engine tolerance manual and tell it the maximum amount of cement you can safely mix.

TIPS 5: NEVER LEAVE UNNOTICED
Whatever you do, remember to keep track of the system at all times. Never leave it unnoticed because external factors can affect the mixer, and you should be there to make sure it can be turned on or off.

TIPS 6: DO NOT MOVE IT WHILE OPERATING IT
It can damage the mixer, but it can also cause all kinds of damage if it falls while on the run.

TIPS 7: OPERATORS SHOULD BE TRAINED
They may seem simple to operate, but there's a lot more to cement mixers than just throwing cement and water into the bowl and replacing it. Make sure your operators are fully trained in all aspects of safety and use.
