Solution:

1. Volume of Concrete = front area of Column x thickness of Column

To find out front area of Column, divide front area of column in to three parts

Area Of Part‐1 (Triangle Shape) = 1/2 X B X H

= 0.50 X 0.35 X 0.60

= 0.105 m2

 

Area Of Part‐2 (Triangle Shape) = 1/2 X B X H

= 0.50 X 0.35 X 0.60

= 0.105 m2

 

Area Of Part‐3 (Rectangle Shape) = L X B

= 0.30 X 2.60

= 0.78 m2

 

Total Front area of Column = 0.105 + 0.105 + 0.78

= 0.99 m2

 

Volume of Concrete = front area of Column x thickness of Column

= 0.99 x 0.30

= 0.297 m3

 

 

2. Shuttering Area = front area of column + back area of column + side area of column + side area of the column

Y - Type Column Quantity Survey


Part‐1:

Side Area For Part‐1 = L X B

= 0.30 x 1.90

= 0.57 m2


Part‐2:

Side Area For Part‐2 = L X B

According to Pythagoras theorem: inclined length 

= c = (a2 +b2)

= (0.352 + 0.702)

= 0.78262m


So,

= L X B

= 0.30 x 0.78262

= 0.234 m2

 

Hence total side area = P1 + P2

= 0.57 + 0.234

= 0.804 m2

 

Therefore,

Shuttering Area = front area of column + back area of column + side area of column + side area of column

= 0.96 + 0.96 + 0.804 + 0.804

= 3.52 m2

 

3. Area of paint = Area of Shuttering

= 3.52 m2
