GIVEN DATA

(A) Solution for Roof Slab

1. Volume of Concrete = Area x Depth x no. of Slabs

= L x B x D x no.s

= 14.50 x 10.50 x 0.20 x 1

= 30.45 m3

Deduction of Dome area

(i) Dome‐1 = Area x Depth

= Ï€/4 x d2 x D

= Ï€/4 x 2.502 x 0.20

= Ï€/4 x 6.25 x 0.20

= 0.981 m3

(ii) Dome‐2 = Area x Depth

= Ï€/4 x d2 x D

= Ï€/4 x 1.852 x 0.20

= Ï€/4 x 3.4225 x 0.20

= 0.537 m3

(iii) Dome‐3 = Area x Depth

= Ï€/4 x d2 x D

= Ï€/4 x 1.652 x 0.20

= Ï€/4 x 2.7225 x 0.20

= 0.427 m3

Total volume of concrete required = 30.45 ‐ 0.981‐ 0.537 ‐ 0.427

= 24.859 m3

2. Shuttering area = (Bottom area of floor slab + peripheral length of Dome‐1 x Depth + peripheral length of Dome‐2 x Depth + peripheral length of Dome‐3 x Depth)

= L x B + 2 x Ï€ x r1 x D + 2 x Ï€ x r2 x D + 2 x Ï€ x r3 x D

r1 = 1.25

r2 = 0.925

r2 = 0.825

= 14.50 x 10.50 + 2 x Ï€ x 1.25 x 0.20 + 2 x Ï€ x 0.925 x 0.20 + 2 x Ï€ x 0.825 x 0.20

= 156.01 m2

Deduction of Dome area

(i) Dome‐1 = Bottom Area of Dome‐1

= Ï€/4 x d2

= Ï€/4 x 2.502

= Ï€/4 x 6.25

= 4.90 m2

(ii) Dome‐2 = Bottom Area of Dome‐2

= Ï€/4 x d2

= Ï€/4 x 1.852

= Ï€/4 x 3.4225

= 2.68 m2

(iii) Dome‐3 = Bottom Area of Dome‐3

= Ï€/4 x d2

= Ï€/4 x 1.602

= Ï€/4 x 2.7225

= 2.13 m2

Total shuttering area required = 156.01 ‐ 4.90 ‐ 2.68 ‐ 2.13

= 146.3 m2

(B) Solution for Dome Slabs

DOME-1:

Semi‐Circle Length = 2 Ï€ R x ½

= 2 x Ï€ x 1.25 x 0.5

= 3.92 m

1. Volume of Concrete = Area x Depth

= Ï€/4 x d2 x D

= Ï€/4 x 3.922 x 0.15

= Ï€/4 x 15.36 x 0.15

= 1.80 m3

2. Shuttering area = bottom area of dome

= Ï€/4 x d2

= Ï€/4 x 3.92 2

= Ï€/4 x 15.36

= 12.06 m2

DOME-2:

Semi‐circle length = 2 Ï€ r x ½

= 2 x Ï€ x 0.925 x 0.5

= 2.90 m

1. Volume of Concrete = Area x Depth

= Ï€ /4 x d2 x D

= Ï€ /4 x 2.902 x 0.15

= Ï€ /4 x 8.41 x 0.15

= 0.99 m3

2. Shuttering area = bottom area of dome

= Ï€/4 x d2

= Ï€/4 x 2.902

= Ï€/4 x 8.41

= 6.60 m2

DOME-3:

Segmental arc length = (8B‐2R)/3

Where,

B = √R2 + H2

Therefore,

D= 1.65m; R = 0.825m; H = 0.60m

B = √R2 + H2

B =√0.8252 + 0.602

B = 1.02

Arc length 'L' = (8 x 1.02 ‐ 2 x 0.825)/3

= 2.17m

1. Volume of Concrete = Area x Depth

= Ï€ /4 x d2 x D

= Ï€ /4 x 2.172 x 0.15

= Ï€ /4 x 4.70 x 0.15

= 0.55 m3

2. Shuttering area = bottom area of dome

= Ï€ /4 x d2

= Ï€ /4 x 2.172

= Ï€ /4 x 4.70

= 3.69 m2

(C) Solution for Minaret

Cylinder:

1. Volume of Concrete = Area x Depth

= Ï€/4 x d2 x D

= Ï€/4 x 0.602 x 3.50

= Ï€/4 x 0.360 x 3.50

= 0.989 m3

2. Shuttering Area = Peripheral length x depth

= 2 x Ï€ x r x D

= 2 x Ï€ x 0.30 x 3.5

= 6.597 m2

Cone:

1. Volume of Concrete = Area x Depth x 1/3

= Ï€/4 x d2 x D x 1/3

= Ï€/4 x 0.802 x 1.20 x 1/3

= Ï€/4 x 0.64 x 1.20 x 1/3

= 0.20 m3

2. Shuttering Area = Peripheral length x depth x 1/3

= 2 x Ï€ x r x D x 1/3

= 2 x Ï€ x 0.40 x 1.20 x 1/3
